On November 10-11, 2020, the 5th Shenzhen Food Safety Forum was successfully held. This two-day food safety forum, with the theme of "Social Co-Governance to Enhance Food Safety", aims to gather the strength and wisdom of all sectors to promote social co-governance of food safety, and to enhance the quality and safety of food in Shenzhen and the Greater Bay Area.
The forum was organized by Shenzhen Food and Drug Safety Commission Office and Shenzhen Municipal Market Supervision Administration, and hosted by Shenzhen Institute of Standards and Technology (SISTA) and Shenzhen Standards Promotion Association (SSPA). The State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration and the Municipal Government of Shenzhen gave high attention and strong support to the event. Huang Qiang, Deputy Secretary General of Shenzhen Municipal People's Government, attended the forum and delivered a welcome speech, while Lin Wu, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, delivered a speech via video.
Focusing on the theme of the forum, the guests delivered brilliant speeches on international, professional and forward-looking topics, such as "Coordination of Epidemic Prevention and Control and Imported Cold Chain Food Supervision", "Risk Monitoring and Early Warning and Control of Aflatoxin in Foods", "Future of Agriculture and Individualized Foods", and "Compliance with the Codex Alimentarius Standards: The Importance of Risk Analysis".
More than 200 representatives from food regulatory agencies, government officials, experts and scholars from research institutes, business leaders, news media and others from 7 countries and regions around the world attended the forum.
On November 11, the forum also presented awards for the 2020 Outstanding "Shenzhen Products" Evaluation, Testing Institutions, Sales Enterprises and Outstanding Enterprises.
